Who we are

At Southwest ADK, we believe in the power of community to protect and preserve the natural beauty of the Adirondacks. As a nonprofit organization, our mission is to safeguard the pristine lakes, forests, and wildlife habitats of the lower southwest region of New York’s Adirondack Park and adjacent areas—stretching along the Route 28 corridor in Oneida County. This breathtaking area includes Otter Lake, White Lake, Little Long Lake, Kayuta Lake, and surrounding streams and wetlands, home to abundant wildlife and a mix of seasonal and year-round residents who cherish this special place.

We know that protecting these waters and lands requires a group effort. That’s why stewardship is at the heart of everything we do. We work together with our neighbors and various community organizations to monitor environmental changes, advocate for responsible practices, and educate residents and visitors alike on how to keep our natural resources thriving for generations to come.
